For the second time, Gallery MooiMan male-art published the only tear-off calendar in the world with the male as the central theme. What began last year as a continuation of a long tradition of calendars (“Flikkeragenda” and “Homogenda”) has attained the character of a collectable. Especially since in 2016, the calendar was included in two museum collections, one in Berlin and one in New York City.

The English Football Association has suspended Andre Gray for four matches because of a number of tweets, including one with homophobic content. According to the Football Association (FA), the Burnley player was found guilty of discrediting football as well as discrimination. Gray has issued a former apology, and both he and his club accept the disciplinary action.
COC Netherlands and Minister Ard van der Steur discussed the safety of lesbians, homosexuals, bisexuals, transgender people, and those with an intersex condition. The Human Rights Council of the UN has taken an historic decision with the appointment of the Thai human rights expert Vitit Muntarbhorn as the first ever Independent Expert for LGBTs. On September 30, an exhibition with works by Maurice Heerdink (*1955) opened in Museum Soest. Heerdink rarely shows his work. From October 28 the exhibition “Project ZuiderBurg II” is shown at Getto Food and Drinks in Amsterdam’s Warmoesstraat. The men behind Project ZuiderBurg are Photoshop-artist Gabriel Batenburg and photographer René Zuiderveld.
