Satin and satinism

Satin isn't a special material but the result of a weaving method creating its smooth and shiny surface. Satin can be made from cotton, silk, wool, viscose. It must be an old weaving method, since paintings by Vermeer for instance show women wearing the most beautiful satin dresses. De Sade describes how exciting boys dressed in satin clothes look. For a long time satin was worn mainly by women who wanted to make themselves beautiful. When boys wore satin it would bring out their feminine side, which so delighted De Sade.
When I was a young boy only common lads would wear satin football trunks. A club as chic as Ajax looked down its nose at them. In the Protestant milieu I grew up in anything shiny, including satin, was considered obscene. To me it made the boys in their satin trunks all the more attractive. Feminine, unmanly, obscene, vulgar, smooth and shiny, they sent shivers of desire down my back. How I longed to fondle those soft shiny trunks.
But that couldn't be, no way. Their private parts was forbidden territory for me, together with their football field. So I had to opt for my second choice and buy myself one of these attractive objects. With the greatest secrecy (there are more secrets than only homosexual ones) I bought myself white satin football trunks. It was a complete revelation. They didn't just feel good, soft like a peach' skin, it was also great for rubbing. To rub and slide my genitals in this satin covering excited me tremendously. I sooner came out to satinism than to homosexuality. I often would buy such satin trousers and in all the colours of the rainbow. There are times I dream of a football field, with on a heap all the satin trousers ever worn there. I roll around in them, breathing in their smells.
Satin boys
With a bit of effort you can find homosexuals in every corner of the land. But satinists are a lot harder to find, as I found out to my regret. So I decided to go down the gay trail first and start a boy hunt. Silently hoping that in the gay world I might come across satin boys. But in those days satin wasn't fashionable for men and so I had to hide my preference for satinism. Only in the late Seventies, when for some time satin trousers were in fashion, did I find a young man who shared my desire and was wearing satin clothes. In the basement of the ITC and on the toilets of the DOK in mutual delight we rubbed and slithered over and around each other like a couple of slippery snakes. The two times we had sex were like minor strokes of lightning, horniness sans lendemain", as the French say.
Wearing satin clothes in those days made you a queen instantly, or at least a feminine creature. Straight blokes had to spout their negative comments, but also in the gay scene the unmanliness of satin wasn't held in high regard. Real men were all the rage, lead by the clone from the pre-Aids era: boys sporting a crew cut, tight jeans, a t-shirt or maybe a lumberjack shirt. They were cotton boys who had the hots for rough and tough, not soft and shiny. Leather and a bit later army was setting the fashion and satin boys could only wish those other men would mistake their black satin for leather. With the sad result of disappointment on both sides: for the leather freak since it was no leather, for the satinist since the other couldn't answer his call. Satin boys could start wearing leather themselves, but unfortunately one illusion is nothing like another. Leather is smooth and shiny, but isn't supple, feminine and obscene.
Sometime around 1995 satin came back in fashion again. First for ladies, next also for men. At first the satinist had to make do with the larger female sizes, but soon labels like Mac& Maggie, Replay, Diesel, Paul Smith and other hip ones began manufacturing satin men's clothes. In those early years I bought myself silly because there always was a chance next season satin would be out of fashion again. The opposite happened and differently than in the Seventies straight boys soon gave up their objections against unmanly shiny fabrics. At last they understood that women are turned on by young men in satin, like I found out repeatedly when straight girls commended my satin trousers or even tried feeling them up.
Sluttish and chic
When in the paper one day I came upon a sex ad of another satin freak, I thought the time was ripe for a club of satin boys. I had a rude awakening. On my own ads I received some one and a half dozen replies, but they came from a hetero guy who fancied ladies' underwear, several gays looking for a steady boyfriend or already having one and who for satin sex could only stop by after working hours, or from young men who were horny for satin, but didn't dare to come out with it and not even had the courage to go to a shop and buy a pair of satin pants. You could forget about turning the rest into a club, so my satinism unfortunately remained a highly private affair.
Maybe at this very moment a young man somewhere is forming a club of satin lovers and has success doing so. It will be difficult, since so many different kinds of clothes and sex drives can be linked with satin. Someone likes suits, another underwear, football shorts, trousers or shirts. I like it because it is sluttish, another might think it's chic. For me it is linked with all kinds of perversions, for others it is an expression of their own frailty and tender feelings of love. Unfortunately the horniness of people drives them into as often as out of each other's arms!

I secretly loved those beautiful Russell- Southern glossy kelly green satin trunks on the athletes. I went to my local spoting goods store (in the late 70's) and was happy to see that the uniforms were available to purchase by anyone. I gradually got all of my favorite colors (red, navy blue, light blue, kelly green, black, gold with blue trim, etc.) Well, a period of many years have elapsed but I always was turned on by beautiful satin clothes and furnishings and fabrics, like the lame that is now available, and satin sheets, etc. For a lifelong lover of satin and associated shimmering materials, this is a great time to be alive! We now have a wide assortment of the lovely fabrics: lame, charmeuse, poly satin, acetate/nylon satin, etc. Only thing I hate is all of the damn ugly-ass, dorky-looking droopy cargo shorts that are seemingly ubiquitous, nowadays! I see great looking guys wearing those despised cargos, and I think how much more attractive and sexy he would look with a cool pair of satin boxing trunks or soccer shorts on. I hate it when basketball went long and non-shiny with their uniform shorts, but the improvement in satin-type materials has been just fantastic, as I alluded to above in reference to the Russells versus say, the new stretch satin, and dazzle fabrics. When they started having satin reappear after the long dry spell on satin shorts like the Adidas Adi-Spezial, I was delighted, and quickly aquired all of the various colors. But where they were an improvement over the skinner's satin in the Russells and earlier Everlast boxing trunks in as far as ease of care, they still did not hold up too well, when you compared them to the stretch satin (polyester) that now exists (eg. Adidas Vigos). The feel is almost as good as nylon satin, but is much more durable. I have aquired several (polyester) satin shirts and soccer (kit) jerseys too. Every day I wear some article of satin, and I probably always will (I am overweight and 47, but I do not care; ***** what others may think; they don't pay my bills; I love the sensuousness, the look and the feel (hand) of the illustrious fabrics). I agree with an earlier posting that if you are a satin lover as we are, it would behoove you to not procrastinate adding to your beloved collection before the winds of fashion once again shift in the opposite direction! Now if we can only get rid of those ugly cargo/camoflage shorts, we'll have made a quantum leap in the right direction. |

Sadly, just like swimming trying to forsake bikini swimsuits, it appears the movement in soccer is shifing away from satin in the make-up of uniform shorts. There are a few holdouts, though. One is satin boxing trunks. like Everlast's, (though it is of a polyester type, which isn't alltogether a bad thing, as it is more durable than acetate, nylon, or bridal satin). One interesting thing is I hated polyester when it was blended with cotton (50%), like in t-shirts several years back and still exist. But when I discovered and took a chance on 100% polyester satin, I was very pleasantly surprised. The dreaded and uncomfortable pilling that occurred in the cotton-polyester blends was not only non-existent, but good part of polester (it's durability) was retained as well, and, of course the icing on the cake, now had a high glossy sheen. Cool!!
I am looking and thinking of anything I can get or make out of satin, lame, and other lustrous fabrics. Satin brings so much joy and satisfaction into my life. When I see some guys that look on me or some other guy with disdain because of the satin that they are wearing, I think how much different he is than I am, culturally; they probably are dying to go see some rednecks race around an oval. Go figure. |

There's always going to be 1 who says 'you bender' or something, but I suspect they are secretly turned on and they feel uncomfortable about themselves. It's easier in a club situation for a guy to wear a satin shirt (even if you're homosexual). I love to wear a really shiny satin shirt when I'm out clubbing or at a bar. As my mother had just bought me two pairs of Addidas satin shorts I not only had to get used to wearing them but also being seen by other people in them.They were a very shiny material and some people found it highly amusing to see me wearing them.At the time i was very self conscious and didn't like to be seen in my new shorts,although my mother preferred them to my other shorts and pointed out that the shiny material shone whenever I moved about.I realized I not only had to wear shorts all the time but now had to wear satin shorts to please my mother. |

During my shool holidays as I mentioned earlier my mother bought me two pairs of satin shorts which I had to wear instead of my school shorts.Although these were a very soft shiny satin,I would bolt upstairs so no one could see me in my shorts. At the last term my headmaster told we would have new house names and therefore would require new games kit in different colours.My mother decided we shold have a trip to the local school outfitters to purchase new short pants and my new games kit.When we arrived at the shop my asked me to try on my short pants and I was asked to sit down while I was wearing them to see if they weren't too tight and then stand up with my back straight to see if my fingers just touched the hem of my short pants.My mother and the shop assistant both said they fitted perfectly but I thoght they were too short.She was obviously used to kitting reluctant boys in shorrt pants.Then my mother asked for my new games shorts and the assistant showed my mother a selection of silky satin shorts that she had purchased before.She purchased two pairs of white satin for gymnastics and two pairs of royal blue satin for games.I knew i would not only have to wear my short pants for school but I would have to wear the satin shorts for games.I was not looking forward to my predicament and when I returned to school I wore my short pants which were very short which fitted well above the knee and packed my satin shorts ready for games in the afternoon.There were thirty six boys in the class and they all wore cotton shorts,not one wore satin like mine.When I had changed into my shorts they gathered round to see me in my shorts.I was mortified by their attention and teasing and also some of them touched my sorts to feel the smooth satin.The teacher came to break up the commotion,but he admired my shorts and all I could was get used to wearing them now I had been seen in them. |

by Simon on 13 juni 2010 | | When I reached my fourteenth birthday my parents decided I should remain in short pants and not be promoted to long trousers as I expected.My school uniform required boys to wear long or short trousers to school up to leaving age if they so wished.My parents took advantage of this option and informed me that their rule was mandatory and I would continue to wear my grey short pants to school and for best.My mother bought me these shorts recently and they fitted perfectly but as my lithesome legs were protruding from my very brief shorts most of my legs were left bare.My mother also bought me two pairs of satin shorts which I usually changed into when I returned from school.These were expensive shorts made from a very smooth shiny material and I had no choice but to wear them instead of my short pants that I wore for school.Although I was used to wearing shorts these were quite different.At that time they were quite unusual and were a slick,blue acetate satin.When my parents' friends or relatives visited I was put on display so I could be seen in them.Often I was taken shopping and for a haircut wearing them.I drew a lot of stares from people who saw a tweely dressed teenager being dragged round the shops wearing satin shorts. |

by simon on 20 juni 2010 | | As more of us at school began to wear satin shorts,it seemed a return to wearing cotton shorts seemed unlikely.The advantage to the teacher would be any boy who was foolish enough to be wearing any underwear beneath his shorts was easily visible through the thin soft,silky,shiny material.Of course this gave very little protection from a caning or slippering and these shorts provided very little warmth when on the playing field in cold wearther,but they became increasingly popular and when I saw my fellow pupils who were ,it seemed reluctantly wearing them I could see how their shorts would shine as they moved about.We were consirdered to be sissies wearing shorts made from a very delicate material but as far as the sight of boys wearing these shiny satin shorts,the spectacle of which could never be equalled. |
