The list of female models pursuing a career in the movies is long and contains the names of Bond girl Grace Jones, Cat Woman Hallie Berry, and many others. It’s striking that very few male colleagues make the same transition, although there are a lot of delicious males in the fashion world. Take for example Channing Tatum. Channing who? Well, you might not know his name, but you surely must have seen his rugged face and impressive body in Dolce & Gabbana, Nautica and A&F ad campaigns.
The 24-year-old chunk of rough masculinity recently made his first movie appearance in “Coach Carter,” which premiered in the United States this January and is expected in June in Dutch cinemas. When it isn’t warm outside already, men who like their men rough and handsome certainly will get very hot in the movie theater.
“Coach Carter” tells the true story of a controversial basketball coach, who didn’t let his winning team play because of their bad school results.
Tatum acts in this movie alongside Samuel L. Jackson, who plays the title role. Tatum thinks of his casting as a “fucking godsend,” because “modeling is not going to last forever, so I needed to find something else that will keep me busy for the next forty years,” he told an interviewer.
Tatum describes himself as “white trash,” born in Alabama and raised in the summers in Mississippi. “I was definitely an outdoors type of boy, getting into trouble all the time.

After his debut he appeared in an episode of the original CSI.
Whether he can act or not we can decide in a few months, but the pictures on this page make it absolutely clear that he has some undeniable assets. |

He gave an interview on E! in which HE HIMSELF STATED HE WAS BISEXUAL although there isn't anything online about the interview.
He has been in Out magazine (I think I remember reading it was in Oct. 2004 if anyone wants to look it up)
His relationship status is in question. While it is not acknowledged by his publicist or hers, Jenna Dewan (his costar from Step Up) states that she is "in a relatonship" on her myspace, yet has a picture of her and Channing with a caption that reads "Don't be mad he's all mine. Not really" Then, while promoting Step Up on the Early show, they are both asked about their off-screen chemistry, "are you two dating?" Channing starts saying "y'know, we really don't talk about that" but Jenna enigmatically says "Yeaaaaa" either agreeing with his statement, or answering the question--it's hard to tell.
So there u have it:
He's bi and MAY be in relationship--not like any of us are ever gonna get with him anyway though..... |

by Innocent Bystander on 01 oktober 2007 | There are seriously too many crazy and stupid people on this post for it to be funny. So me set the record straight. (Pun not intended).
1) Looks do not determine whether someone is gay or straight. One can absolutely gorgeous and still be gay or bi. One can also be horrendously ugly and still be gay or bi. In other words not all beautiful people are gay and not all ugly people are straight.
2) Channing has a girlfriend that he has been with for sometime now which I believe pretty much rules him out for being gay. However that does not mean that he isn't bi being that the definition of being bisexual means being attracted to men and women to varying degrees.
3) *Especially for the girls* Please bear in mind that not every celebrity that you have a crush on will be straight and that you have as much a chance of hooking up with a celebrity as winning the lottery. So deal with it.
4) Posing for homo-erotic pictures and playing gay in a movie makes a person no more gay than playing a murderer in a movie makes a person a murderer or playing a rapist makes a person a rapist. It is a paid job which has no baring on their sexuality and has no one heard of "gay-for-pay?"
I sincerely hope that I have enlightened some of you.

Look at his modeling career. He worked with Tony Duran, a photographer that has done plenty of shoots with nude/clothed men draped over each other, caressing each other, etc. Channing Tatum was no exception to that trend. On top of that he was an Abercrombie model, which made him more of a gay softcore porn model really. Some of those photos included him sitting around in his whitie tighties with other men and eyeballing some fit guy in his undies. How does that advertise clothing? Gossip columnists get to have a field day with stuff like that!
I'll admit, I'm a little curious, but I think the fact that people get so heated over it is silly. |
