The Dutch underwear brand PFM Underwear was founded by Pauline Mulder. As a former professional tennis player, she wants to create a top brand with trendy boxer shorts for men. PFM Underwear’s boxer shorts have an excellent fit, a perfect finish, and are made of high-quality materials.
For her new collection, Pauline managed to contract the heavyweight kickboxing world champion Rico Verhoeven as the new ambassador for PFM Underwear. This collaboration is not a sponsorship, but a long-term partnership. Rico will work with the design team to design a line of special edition boxer shorts for PFM.
The collection will consist of three designs that suit the brand as well as Rico. He will be more than just “the face of a brand,” as Rico thinks it is important to give his own twist to the brand. Rico Verhoeven: “I completely support this collaboration, as PFM is a Dutch brand. PFM is all about detail and quality. It is something I recognize as an athlete - I also want to score high on all points and thus bring the best quality to the table. I also love working with PFM, growing together. I am very keen to start designing. Additionally, there is a good click with the entrepreneur behind PFM, Pauline Mulder.”
“Rico is more than just a kickboxer. He is also a man, a father, and is not afraid to show his soft side. Precisely that is why he has become a true ambassador for his sport. A role model. It is why we are so proud that he is now also an ambassador for PFM Underwear. Professional athletes have a mentality I like. They give a hundred percent and know what they want, full of passion and positivity. That is the kind of man I design for. PFM stands for performance. To want to be the best. That is something I want for my brand at all times. Rico has that like no other,” notes Pauline Mulder.
The Amsterdam underwear label A-Dam Underwear was founded in 2014 by five friends from Amsterdam. It is now available in Belgium, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and France, among other countries. The boxers are produced keeping the male and the environment in mind. For example, they use only GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified organic cotton that is grown without pesticides or chemicals. And they demand good working conditions in their factories. All boxer models have different male names, such as: Ruud, Frank, Rens, and Joep.
The boxers have the highest quality elastic band they could find. With a soft finish on the inside, you will also find no laundry labels that can irritate. They also removed the band stitching behind the A-dam label. For additional comfort, they use a special stitching technique, which ensures that the seams of the boxer cannot be felt on the skin. Not only is this more beautiful, but also more comfortable. At A-dam Underwear they believe they can inspire men to make the best of each day, with the slogan: “If you’ve got balls.”
